Dear Parent

Governors are involved in all aspect of school life and the organisation of the school in order to offer the best possible education for your children.

Governors are from all sections of the community. They are appointed or elected by various groups.

Governors attend training sessions arranged by the local school pyramid and Wakefield M.D.C. Education Department. They have special links within the school in curriculum areas, Special Educational Needs, National Literacy Strategy, Finance and Appointments.

Please feel free to contact the Governors on school matters and remember that it is your right to attend the annual Parent and Governors meeting to raise any points which may trouble you. It is also your right to stand for election as a parent Governor whenever a vacancy occurs (notified by letter via your child when one arises).

We hope that your child's educational experience at St. Thomas ' will be a happy and fruitful one.
