French Club
Bonjour! Welcome to French Club, where children learn French whilst experiencing French culture. The club is held on Thursday and Friday lunchtimes and is very popular with our Year 4 and 5 students.
Partnership with French school Ecole Elementaire Charcot, Blois
The French Club are very excited to announce that St Thomas' Junior now have a partner school in France with whom they will working on projects throughout the year. The partnership has been arranged through the eTwinning organisation and will see the children exchanging letters, emails, videos and artwork as a means of learning about each other's cultures and languages. Our partner school is the Ecole Elementaire Charcot, Blois. Click on the link below to locate the school on Google Maps.
Petanque professionnel!
The French Club wish to thank Mrs Randall, Mr Slater and Mr Garbutt for providing the school with an authentic petanque court for the children to practise their skills. Many children, not just the French club, have been introduced to the French pastime and have discovered that it is not as easy as it looks. Bonne chance!
Virtual tour of Paris
To reinforce our class work on understanding and giving directions, members of the French club have been enjoying a virtual tour of famous landmarks in Paris. Click on the links below to enjoy 360 degree views of some iconic tourist destinations:

Petanque
The children in French club have enjoyed learning how to play petanque, a French game which is also known as boules. It is very similar to the British game of bowling, except you throw the balls instead of rolling them. It is a fun game which is easy to play, although you have to take care not to almost hit your teacher on the head!
Monet watercolours
